FIRST BLOG!
Hey Guys! First a HUGEEEE HELLOOO!
I’m super excited to kick start this brand new BlogSpot off for The Bible for Men.
Peer-Pressure is known as social pressure by members of one's peer group to take a certain action, adopt certain values, or otherwise conform in order to be accepted.
Let’s face it… We’ve all been there, either in a classroom or street corner or school playing yard, someone’s came up with that great ‘idea’ which is not a great idea but you either go along with to keep your friends or you MAKE A STAND and say NO!
For example if your friends and yourself reach teenage years, this is a difficult time anyway with all the hormones and exams flying about. But you have the power; the Lord Jesus your saviour gave you the power and I believe that when we are challenged we are going to use that experience of when we stayed strong and committed to our own morals in the future.
2 Timothy1:7- For the Spirit God gave us, does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
We use our past experiences in the future, I know you don’t want to hear this but there will be tougher situations in the future that make us crumble and break down in tears, but God will get you through it and just think to yourself that you’re going to get through the situation, you are going to have a break through from God, you will be amazing in the future.
We go through the darkness to get to the bright future.
Next time you’re outside on a night, and its pitch black darkness, look up, just look up and see the wonders of the universe, look up and find the light.
2 Peter 1: 3 - According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
I personally think peer pressure is different between guys and girls. I believe from experience that guys are peer pressured into doing bad things like smoking, drinking alcohol, consuming drugs and violence. Whereas girls get pressured into wearing things to entice the opposite sex and also kiss guys who they barely know. This once again is from experience, so it will be different for all of you.
Just remember you’re not alone! Every single teenager has been peer pressured into something or another, don’t feel like you have to say yes, make a stand, be different because let me tell you this, when you start secondary school or college everyone is comparing themselves to each other, they all have little cliques and they all dress the same and you have to have the same posh trainers as everyone else… but there’s hope at the end of the tunnel because at the end of your school years everyone is fighting to be different and create themselves individually so take a deep breath and just focus on being yourself and not falling for stupid things you will regret in the future.
Thank you for reading guys! Hope to hear from you soon!
